Arizona

We went to Phoenix last weekend on one last airplane flight before Hyrum turns 2 (still free!), and before I get too big and uncomfortable. We stayed with my brother Doug and his wife Mandy and really enjoyed the relaxing time and beautiful weather. It was a short trip but worth it, we even got to see my brother David and his family (Amanda & the boys) for a couple hours as they were up from Tucson for a temple trip. Here are some pictures of our day at the "Wildlife World Zoo" We didn't take many pictures of other activities, but spent the time at the park (throwing rocks, sliding & playing football), driving out to the desert at South Mountain, visiting with Doug & Mandy, eating at Manuel's, taking an extra-long family nap, and (Hyrum's absolute favorite) watching a cement mixer truck pour concrete for some construction right over Doug & Mandy's back fence! Honestly, he could not get enough of the cement mixer, and talked about it the entire time. Thanks you two for having us down for the weekend!

Hyrum's favorite part of the zoo was the little train we got to ride on that took us past some of the animals. He's quite into trains lately (along with trucks), so it was perfect.

Another favorite was the petting area of the zoo where you could feed goats, llamas, little deer and chickens. How sweet are these little Pygmy goats?

Hyrum & Ryan on the carousel
Feeding some Sting-Rays!
And feeding some giraffes! (My favorite part of the zoo). We walked up a big wooden structure and the giraffes eventually wandered over for a snack! It was amazing to see them so close and feel their long sticky tongues.

A long exciting day for a little boy. He was out for almost an hour.
