He Loved it!! Told me today he wants to do a two nighter the next time.
I was really proud of Hyrum, he pretty much carried his own gear (sleeping pad, bag and clothes) without complaining once, and kept up with dad and a good pace. We hiked 4 miles (1 mile on the wrong trail) and ended up at a pretty little lake nestled in the forest.
We went with Brandon and Carter Green in the ward and had a great time hiking around and getting wet.
Highlights included: viewing bats and salamanders, seeing an osprey go after a fish, eating marshmellows, hiking to a waterfall and finding troll snot.
Definitely something we'll be doing more of.
